Found some cool open-source apps/tools
Unproofread notes
While casually browsing, I came across this blog post by Bharat Kalluri that mentions a few great open-source apps/tools that he's self-hosting. I am just listing those tools here:
- Jellyfin: Helps stream media from your storage to multiple devices.
- Immich: I already know about this one. Basically, it is the best Google Photos alternative, but open-source.
- Actual Budget: A fast and privacy-focused app for managing your finances.
- Paperless-ngx: An open-source document management system that transforms your physical documents into a searchable online archive.
- Karakeep: An open-source Pocket and MyMind alternative but with an automatic tagging system powered by AI.
- Audiobookshelf: A self-hosted audiobook and podcast server.
- File Browser: A file managing interface within a specified directory on your server.
- Beszel: Tracks CPU, memory, and network usage history for each container.
And it's interesting that he has been running the local server on a laptop and following is the setup:
Very cool. I will soon be trying something like this.
